Choosing your Divorce Mediator
Divorce Mediation is a specialized area of the law. There is a great deal of information the mediator must, should and is expected to know in order to mediate divorces.

Our clients have all been satisfied having chosen mediation over litigation. Mediation allows the parties to take control of their dissolution and negotiate with a neutral third party who does not make decisions, but assists in facilitating communication over issues that are in dispute.

Mediation is different from litigation in that litigation is very focused on the past and a determination of right and wrong. Mediation is not a substitution for litigation (litigation has its own value). Instead, it allows the parties to see the benefit of working things out themselves. Mediation is about the present and immediate future, with both parties arriving at agreements that are practical and meaningful.

Mediation is not a well-known option, so some are initially skeptical. People think that something will be imposed on them or that they will be forced to agree to something. The truth is that both parties decide what the terms are and they are the masters of their own agreement.
